Cory family papers, 1896-1932

Harry Thomas Cory (1870- ) was an assistant engineer at A. & M. Railway in 1888, before undertaking numerous engineering projects including one with the Southern Pacific Railroad, where he was personally in charge of diverting the Colorado River from running to the Salton Sea (1906-07). Clarence Linus Cory (1872-1937) was a professor of electrical engineering at Highland Park College in Des Moines, Iowa and a professor of electrical engineering at the University of California at Berkeley. The collection contains about 130 transcript engineering reports, including ground water, surface water (hydrolic), electrical, and mining investigations, primarily for cities, counties, and corporations in California.
